Define Love For A Child

Showing how you love other people is easy. You simply just show them how much you love them through various things that reflect how much affection you have to offer them. But that is because you are an adult. You know what to do since you already have an idea on what to do, having lived for more than eighteen years or so, being more experienced when it comes to being showy about specific emotions. But how about kids? How do they show how much they love other people, like their parents for example?

Living Together.

Kids feel secure when they live with trustworthy adults, such as their good parents. As the world already knows, children love to watch their favorite cartoons on television or eat their favorite snack playing house in their own rooms. But a child, who is intent in wanting and trying to show his or her parents his or her affection towards them, will sacrifice afternoon cartoon-watching madness to play with his or her parents.

They get to show love to their parents when they show that they want to spend more time either with his or her mom, or his or her dad, or both.

They Treat Their Parents Like Counselors

Whenever they have a problem, from those they think is the littlest, like the cookie they ate had too many crumbs, or from the ones they treat to be the most impact-making in their lives, like they lost their Barney stuffed toy, they call on their parents like the Gotham City calls for Batman. This shows that they trust and love their parents.

Now, as a parent, you must not laugh or treat their problems like something totally easy to get through, because for them, it is like climbing Mount Everest. You have to be serious and give them advice that could help them solve the problem. As much as possible, you have to promote independence in them.

Surprises

Kids love surprises. You will know that your kid is attempting to show you he or she loves you when out of the blue, they just suddenly give you a card that showcases world’s most artiste creation: a drawing of a family holding hands with the sun shining above them, or at least that is what it looks like. These could be little things for you, but this is their way of showing you how much they love you.

Public Displays Of Affection

Some kids are explicit in showing you, and the world, how much they love you. Some would love to kiss you even if there are lots of people watching. Kids can get really huggy at times and they would just want to embrace you real hard until you ask them to let go because you are starting to turn blue due to lack of oxygen. Also, when they do go public with their affection towards you, do not forget to hug them back. Your response to how they show you they love you is very essential. Of course, you also have to show them that you love them.

Doing Their Best

Kids want their parents to appreciate them and recognize their talents as gifts. Thus, whenever they get the opportunity to showcase their talents or the things that they are good at, you have to show them your appreciation and praise them for being confident in the presentation and also for possessing a talent such as theirs. Making you proud is one of their ways of showing you that they love you. And when you do feel proud, you must show it, otherwise, they would think they failed you.

You could actually see the vindication when they do their thing on stage, feeling pleased with all the surrounding applause. Even if it is a competition, after they perform will their best and might, they do not even spare a glance at the judges, but rather they look at you, your face, and see how you react to his or her performance. Of course, a good parent, such as you, will feel happy about your child’s presentation. But feeling so is not enough.
